Basmati Rice Trial by Symbiotic Sciences
Location:: Village - Ladhra, Chack Jhandu, District Jalandhar, Punjab.
Trial Size: Nearly 4.5 hectare of land had been set up for Trial.
Soil Type: Trial laid out was in Sandy Loam.
Seed Variety & Seed Rate:For trial PUSA - 1121 was tested and seed rate being 6 kg/acre.
Timing :Nursery – Last week May'10,Transplanting – 3rd week June'10, Harvesting – 2nd week of October'10
Harvest and Yield Details:- Plants inoculated with SyMyco (Mycorrhiza) responded better both at the time of nursery and post harvesting in terms of growth and roots system.
- A Difference of .55 to 2.5 quintals/acre was marked between Mycorrhized fields and Non Mycorrhized field.
- There was a hail storm which damaged the crop.But then too Mycorrhized fields showed an average yield increase of 2.92% to 17.86% respectively when compared to Non Mycorrhized fields.
